How to reach Elba Island by ferry
There are four companies that reach the island of Elba: Moby Lines. Toremar, Blunavy and Corsica Ferries. The frequency of connections varies according to the time of the year, in the summer months numerous daily trips connect the port of Piombino with the island of Elba. The crossing takes about 60 minutes and the destination is Portoferraio (there are also rides on Rio Marina and Cavo). With the Corsica Ferries that travels only during the summer period it is possible to travel in about 40 minutes. With the car in tow, booking the ferry is always advisable, especially for the Easter weekend, on the holidays of April 25 and May 1, and on the weekends of July and August. And in the periods of greatest tourist influx, in addition to having the ticket already done, it is recommended to arrive at the port at least 40 minutes in advance to avoid queues and unpleasant delays. If you want to leave your car at the port of Piombino and get on the ferry only as a passenger, there are several covered or guarded car parks, free or paid. These include: Autorimessa del Porto and Garage Permare parking. For more information on costs and availability we advise you to contact them directly. There are numerous scooter and car rentals on Elba.
